About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Chicago’s vibrant barbecue scene, I 57 RIB House serves up an unapologetically bold and hearty Southern-style barbecue experience that keeps locals coming back for more. Specializing in finger-licking ribs and hearty meat combos, this barbecue and fast food restaurant expertly balances tradition with an effortlessly casual, down-to-earth dining atmosphere. Whether you’re grabbing a quick meal or settling in for a robust feast, the vibe at I 57 RIB House feels like an inviting neighborhood joint where smoky aromas and the promise of satisfying comfort food take center stage.

The menu is a carnivore’s playground, bursting with generous portions and deeply satisfying flavors. Signature dishes like the Bucket of Hot Links and the Chicken Tip & Turkey Link Combo showcase a beautiful medley of smoky, spicy, and saucy goodness, each bite tinged with the richness of expertly smoked meats. The Large Rib Tip Dinner stands out with its tender, meaty ribs enveloped in vibrant sauce, while the Whole Rib Plate is a must-order for true rib aficionados craving that full-slab indulgence. Those with an adventurous palate will appreciate the variety of pork tips and links, all lovingly coated in mild, flavorful sauces that achieve a perfect balance — never overwhelming the natural smoky essence of the meat.

One cannot talk about I 57 RIB House without mentioning their famously "overly sauced fries," which offer a messy, addictive sidekick to any meal. The dishes invite you to savor the rich textures and smoky layers, complemented by hearty chunks of meat that speak of slow cooking and a true dedication to authentic barbecue craft. For a touch of sweetness, their desserts like homemade Peach Cobbler and moist cakes provide a comforting, satisfying finish to the meal.

Real customer feedback paints a picture of a place that strives to please but occasionally reveals the rough edges inherent in any bustling barbecue spot. One frequent visitor noted the generosity, especially highlighting the warm gesture of a complimentary peach cobbler. Another customer mentioned encountering a few burnt pieces at the bottom of their bucket but praised the tender, saucy ribs on top, which delivered the expected smoky richness and meaty satisfaction. These genuine experiences underscore a kitchen grounded in heartfelt cooking, where the emphasis is on deeply flavorful, satisfying meals rather than pristine perfection.

For anyone seeking a substantial, no-nonsense barbecue meal in Chicago, I 57 RIB House delivers soul-warming flavors with an authentic edge. From bucket-sized portions to rib slabs dripping in sauce, this spot is a haven for meat lovers who appreciate a bold, saucy bite in a relaxed, welcoming setting. It’s a place where smoky aromas mingle with the lively buzz of enthusiastic patrons, leaving you with a lasting impression of honest, hearty barbecue done right.

Greetings and Salutations. I've been here thrice. The first time I ordered a large Turkey Tip combo (it was good. Tips could have used more precise cutting). I inquired at the Peach Cobbler, the employee gave it to me on the house, which was neat. The last two time's I've ordered the large Pork tips, due to a female employee (which I learned the was the manager) informed me that they're all pretty tender due to being grilled And smoked. I Have Not Been Disappointed. Tips were tender, even the one's that appeared more done and crispy. One area of opportunity ...#MoreFries.

I love this place, but, love I 57 Smoke House, across the expressway as well. The Rib House got 4 stars for food because I had several non edible, burnt pieces at the bottom of the bucket, I purchased. It was soaked in oil and not much sauce at the bottom. But, the top pieces were meaty, sauce covered and delicious.
